ACI to invest HRK 105M to reconstruct Rovinj marina

ZAGREB/OPATIJA, 27.10.2015.

The ACI company which manages the chain of 21 marinas on the Croatian Adriatic coast plans to invest HRK 105 million to reconstruct the land and sea sections of the Rovinj marina and works could commence at the end of next summer, ACI has reported.

ACI (Adriatic Croatian International Club) approved the investment early October and notified the Zagreb Stock Exchange of this plan, noting that the HRK 105 million for the reconstruction was an 'estimate'.

A design for revamping the facility is ready and now it is necessary to obtain the relevant building permits and the works could start at the end of the next summer, ACI officials told Hina.

The planned reconstruction should raise the marina into a much higher category -  a 5-anchor-marina - and will facilitate berths for small, average and mega-sized yachts as well as providing additional amenities on land.

"The Rovinj marina is the strongest ACI transit marina in Istria and we are satisfied with the results generated this year and its location and Rovinj as a destination itself will certainly be able to offer a lot more once the reconstruction is launched," ACI officials said.

The marina currently provides 407 berths for small vessels and additional 40 dry berths.
